Importance.
My last blog post was back in mid-June. Life was definitely in an interesting point at that moment. A lot has changed since then, but I've continued to forge forward and focus on the path.
Today, I felt this strong compulsion to write something here. I know what it was stirred up by, and it has me at a very interesting perspective on things, life and otherwise.
It's very easy to get caught up in life. There are moments where people easily forget to stop and focus on what's important and forget the rest. It's easy to bypass a moment to smell the flowers, so to speak, if it slows you down. Maybe you can bypass that one thing you want to do if it slows you down any. But sometimes it takes that one thing to snap you back to reality.
This life is not promised. NOTHING in life is promised or guaranteed. You can close your eyes tonight and not open them again tomorrow, and you'd never know. It's very easy to forget that this fragile thing called life isn't something that is owed, promised, nor guaranteed.
There are moments that happen, whether they affect you directly or not, that remind you of that. Things come and go in your life with a purpose, and there can be that one thing that comes, that makes you remember the importance of life and it's value.
Maybe it makes you hug that special someone in your life a little harder.
Maybe it makes you take that moment to go visit that friend for coffee you've been talking about.
Maybe it makes you take that trip you've talked about taking, but put off for various reasons.
Maybe it makes you just stop for a moment.... and breathe... and slow down.
I know that for half the day to this point, all I can think about is making sure that I take care of myself. All I can think about is making sure that I look out for me, as no one else will do it. All I can think about is making sure that I listen to myself.
I think about where I was in June and where I am now in September. Even that small period of time has had a significant impact on my life, my ability to make decisions, my confidence in myself, and desire to take care of myself. Room for improvement is ways there, but the main thing is the importance.
Hug that loved one a little tighter. Tell that family member that you love them.
It's important to remember the important things life has to offer.
